Product Information
Kevetrin hydrochloride is a cell factor antagonist that binds to CD40 and blocks the primary signal for T-cell stimulation, preventing activation of the immune system. It is used for the treatment of HIV infection and in cancer therapy. Kevetrin hydrochloride also has potent antitumor activity against breast cancer cells by inhibiting tumor cell growth and inducing apoptosis.
The drug has been studied extensively in animal models, showing little toxicity. The drug has not been evaluated for use in humans at this time.
