Product Information
Ethyl 3-(2-bromophenyl)-2-cyanoacrylate is a quinoline derivative that can be synthesized by the reductive amination of ethyl 2-bromoacetate and 2-chloroquinoline. This chemical reaction occurs in two steps. First, the nitrile group on the 2-chloroquinoline is reduced to an amino group using a reducing agent such as sodium borohydride. The amino group on the 2-chloroquinoline then reacts with ethyl formate to produce ethyl 3-(2-bromophenyl)-2-cyanoacrylate.
Ethyl 3-(2-bromophenyl)-2-cyanoacrylate has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in culture, including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines, such as tumor nec
