Product Information
1-Methoxyindole-3-carboxylic acid is a metabolite of formaldehyde, which is formed by the oxidation of 1-methoxyindole. It has been shown to have pharmacological activity in rats and to inhibit protein synthesis in rat liver cells. The metabolic pathway for 1-methoxyindole-3-carboxylic acid is not yet known, but it is thought that it may be converted into methoxyindole-3-carboxylic acid or react with formaldehyde to produce formic acid.
