Product Information
2-(Trimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)phenol is an antifungal agent that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, a component of fungal cell membranes. It is used to treat tinea and unguium. This drug binds to the active site of 14α-demethylase, which converts lanosterol to ergosterol in fungi. 2-(Trimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)phenol also inhibits the activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes, which are involved in the oxidation of xenobiotics and metabolism of hormones, prostaglandins, and leukotrienes.
