Description:
Fargesone A is a fatty acid that belongs to the group of macrocyclic antimicrobial agents. It has been shown to have a cytotoxic effect on cancer cells, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. Fargesone A has also been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to bacterial 16S ribosomal RNA and inhibiting protein synthesis.
