Capeserod HCl is a peptide that blocks ligand-gated ion channels, which are found in neurons, muscle cells and gland cells. It is a research tool used to study the interactions between proteins and peptides and has been shown to inhibit the activation of receptors by binding to them. Capeserod HCl has also been shown to be an inhibitor of receptor-mediated events such as neurotransmitter release. Capeserod HCl can be dissolved in DMSO or DMF for use in cell biology experiments.
