AT101
Synonyms:
  • AT101 acetate
  • [2,2'-Binaphthalene]-8,8'-dicarboxaldehyde, 1,1',6,6',7,7'-hexahydroxy-3,3'-dimethyl-5,5'-bis(1-methylethyl)-, (2R)-, compd. wi
Description:

AT101 is a natural compound that inhibits the production of energy in cells. It binds to nuclear DNA, blocking transcription and replication, leading to apoptosis. AT101 has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. However, it does not show any effect on healthy cells and can be used as an anticancer agent without side effects. The molecular docking analysis of AT101 with mitochondrial proteins reveals that this drug has a high affinity for the mitochondrial protein Mcl-1. Mcl-1 protein is involved in the regulation of anti-apoptotic pathways, which may explain the lack of toxicity on healthy cells.
