Description:SR-4995 is a synthetic, potent, and selective inhibitor of triglyceride lipase that blocks cellular uptake and breakdown of fatty acids. It has been shown to potently inhibit the release of fatty acids from adipose tissue and to reduce thermogenesis in rodents. SR-4995 is not active against antifungal drug resistant strains such as Candida albicans or Candida glabrata. SR-4995 also inhibits the synthesis of proteins involved in lipid metabolism and has been shown to reduce intracellular levels of fat in tissues such as liver, heart, kidney, and muscle.
