Product Information
Monitoring the diameter of a population is an important part of public health surveillance. The GSK 591 dihydrochloride sensor is a device that can be used for measuring the diameter of a population. The size of the sensor is about 2 mm in length, 1 mm in width, and 0.5 mm in thickness. The sensor has two modes: one mode monitors the diameter of cells, while the other mode measures the number of cells. In addition to size, population density can also be monitored using this device. This sensor uses fluorescence excitation to measure cell size and fluorescence detection to measure cell numbers, which are detected by photodiodes on the surface of the sensor chip. Fluorescence excitation occurs when light is emitted from a fluorescent dye molecule and absorbed by a complementary fluorescent dye molecule within the cell; this process causes fluorescence emission at a different wavelength than that of the incident light. This fluorescent excitation-emission process is used as an indicator for measuring cell
