Product Information

Name:
AT-527
Description:

AT-527 is a natural product that has been shown to have antiparasitic, antibiotic, and antibacterial activities. It is derived from Streptomyces sp. AT-527 produces an active metabolite that inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. This binding prevents the formation of an antibiotic-inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis that is required for cell wall biosynthesis, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division. AT-527 also inhibits viral replication by inhibiting RNA polymerase activity and DNA transcription, which leads to inhibition of protein expression and virus assembly.
AT-527 was found to be active against a variety of microorganisms including fungi and parasites as well as influenza A (H1N1) virus in vitro.
