Additionally, triethoxy(isobutyl)silane has been shown to have hydrophobic properties and can be used as a catalyst for reactions involving fatty acids or inorganic acids. Triethoxy(isobutyl)silane has also been shown to react with polyvinyl alcohol, glycol ethers, and fatty acids to form water-soluble films.
