Suc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Trp-pNA is a peptide that is used as a substrate for elastase. This peptide has been shown to be an effective substrate for this enzyme, with a Km of 0.8 mM and an kcat of 2.6 x 10 M/s. Suc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Trp-pNA is also used as a substrate for pancreatic enzymes such as trypsin and chymotrypsin, with Km values of 1.1 and 0.5 mM respectively. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of these enzymes by forming inactive complexes with them.
