Product Information
Micrococcin P1 is a natural compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of human pathogens. It is an inhibitor of microbial RNA polymerase, and it binds to the enzyme's active site. Micrococcin P1 inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit in a similar manner as rifampicin and is used for the treatment of infectious diseases. This drug also exhibits pharmacokinetic properties that are different from other antimicrobial agents, such as trifluoroacetic acid. Micrococcin P1 has been shown to be bound in serum at concentrations higher than those found in plasma or urine, suggesting that it may be metabolized by serum proteins.
