Product Information
- 8-Bromo-2(1H)-quinolinone
8-Bromoquinolin-2(1H)-one is an organic compound that inhibits the production of inflammatory substances in the body. It is a long-chain alkene and a synthetic substance that is used to prepare pharmaceuticals. 8-Bromoquinolin-2(1H)-one has been shown to have anti-cancer properties, as well as an inhibitory effect on inflammation. The drug is synthesized by reacting benzonitrile with bromine and ammonia in a reaction system. 8-Bromoquinolin-2(1H)-one inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) by inhibiting cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase enzymes. It also binds with high affinity to the enzyme phospholipase A 2 (PLA 2 ), which results in a rapid hydrolysis of phospholipids and production of arachidonic acid, which leads to increased levels of PGE2.
