Product Information
Platycodin D3 is a protocatechuic acid derivative that has been shown to inhibit the growth of replicon cells. This effect may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme activities of DNA polymerase and RNA polymerase. Platycodin D3 also demonstrates cytotoxic activity against skin cancer cells, as well as an ability to cause hemolysis in vitro. Furthermore, platycodin D3 is able to bind to the receptor site of fatty acid metabolism, which may be related to its anti-hepatitis B virus effects. Finally, this chemical structure has been shown to have a negative impact on liver function by increasing hepatic steatosis and decreasing metabolic rate.
