Product Information
- 1-Tert-Butylimidazolidin-2-One
1-tert-Butyl-2-imidazolidinone is an unsymmetrical molecule that is used in the synthesis of macrocycles. It's synthesized by a cross-coupling reaction between 1-bromo-2,4,6-trimethylbenzene and 2-(chloromethyl)pyridine. The fluorine atom in this molecule can be substituted with other functional groups such as chloroethyl, cyclopropyl, or cyclobutyl to produce a variety of compounds with different properties. This molecule has been shown to interact with catalysts such as copper(II) acetate or nickel(II) chloride and heterocycles such as pyrrole, furan, and thiophene during the catalytic process. This reaction produces a high yield of macrocyclic products.
