Product Information
Kazusamycin A is a β-amino acid that has potent antitumor activity. It inhibits the growth of subcutaneous tumors in mice, and has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis. Kazusamycin A also has potent inhibitory activity against fatty acid synthase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of fatty acids from acetyl-CoA. This inhibition may be responsible for its potent anti-tumor effects, as well as its ability to prevent tumor metastasis and cancer progression. Kazusamycin A also has been shown to have immunosuppressive effects and could be used for the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus erythematosus.
