Description:DNP-Pro-Leu-Gly is a synthetic substrate of carboxypeptidase A. It is a peptide that has been shown to have potential as an anti-ulcer agent in animal studies. DNP-Pro-Leu-Gly is able to activate the enzyme carboxypeptidase A by binding to its active site and mimicking the natural substrate, tryptophan. The peptide has also been shown to inhibit collagen degradation in vitro, which may be due to its ability to bind collagen and inhibit the activity of collagenase enzymes.
