It has been shown to inhibit the protease activity of cytosolic calcium-dependent, chemotactic factors and other compounds in experimental models of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and AIDS. LY223982 binds to and inhibits the catalytic site of serine proteases such as trypsin, chymotrypsin, elastase, cathepsin G, proteinase 3 and urokinase-type plasminogen activator. This drug is also an inhibitor of activated adhesion molecules that are involved in inflammatory processes.
