- Triptoquinonoic acid A
- Tryptoquinone A
Triptoquinone A is a monocarboxylic acid that has been shown to have a suppressive effect on cancer cells. It is structurally related to tripterygium, which is a quinoline derivative. Triptoquinone A has been shown to inhibit the production of cGMP in cancer cells by interacting with the aromatase enzyme and causing an increased accumulation of intracellular hydrogen ions. The fluorescence assay, which is a technique used to measure the rate of conversion of quinoline derivatives into terpenes, showed that Triptoquinone A also inhibits tumor growth in mice with muscle cancer.
