Description:

Taxachitriene A is a natural product that is structurally similar to taxol, which is a known anticancer agent. Taxachitriene A has been shown to have cytotoxic activity against cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. It binds to the cellular target, 10-deacetylbaccatin III reductase, which is involved in the synthesis of deacetylated baccatin III. Taxachitriene A also inhibits the proliferation of cancer cell lines by inhibiting protein synthesis and preventing DNA replication. This compound has also been shown to induce apoptosis and inhibit tumor growth in animal models.
