Description:
SIB 1508Y is a prodrug that has been found to be effective in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. The drug is orally administered and converted to its active form, 6-methylene-5,6-dihydroxy-3-(4′-hydroxyphenyl)-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-2-one (SIB 1508), by esterases in the gastrointestinal tract. SIB 1508Y has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in animals. This drug also inhibits kinetics and hemodynamics of blood vessels.
