Description:CAY10681 is a senolytic agent that eliminates senescent cells in the lung. Senescent cells are cells that have stopped dividing and accumulate with age and during chronic inflammation. CAY10681 has been shown to reduce pulmonary fibrosis in mice and to inhibit the growth of atherosclerosis lesions in mouse models. The mechanism of action of CAY10681 is not yet known, but it seems to specifically target senescent cells without affecting normal cells. CAY10681 has also been shown to inhibit the production of gene products associated with senescence, such as IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-α.
