This agent also blocks the angiotensin system, which may have physiological implications including regulation of blood pressure. GSK1016790A binds to calcium binding sites on the cytosolic side of TRPV4 channels where it acts as a competitive antagonist. The compound is stable over a wide pH range and does not show any significant effect on cellular viability at concentrations up to 100 µM.
