Tryptamine is a chemical compound that has a molecular formula of C11H16N2, and is the amine derived from tryptophan. Tryptamine hydrochloride is a white crystalline powder with a melting point of 165-166°C. It is soluble in water, ethanol, acetone, ether and chloroform.
