Bromopropylate is a synergist that is used in combination with other pesticides to increase their effectiveness. The synergistic effect of bromopropylate with other pesticides has been shown using a matrix effect assay, which showed that bromopropylate increased the potency of acaricides. Bromopropylate also increases mitochondrial membrane potential, potassium dichromate and sodium citrate levels. Bromopropylate can be detected in the environment by an analytical method involving glycol ethers. Bromopropylate is a potent inducer of residues and pesticides, leading to its use as an analytical tool for detecting these substances.
