Product Information
Dihydromorin is a Chinese herb that is used in traditional Chinese medicine preparations. It has been shown to have a hypoglycemic effect in diabetic patients, and to be effective against vaginal atrophy. Dihydromorin contains the active compound, dihydromyricetin (DM), which is structurally similar to tyrosine and inhibits the activity of tyrosinase. The inhibition of tyrosinase by DM results in decreased production of melanin pigments and thus reduced skin darkening. In addition, DM also has anti-inflammatory activities, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
