1-Nonadecene is a nitrogen-containing organic compound that occurs in small amounts in plants. It is produced by the oxidative degradation of fatty acids. 1-Nonadecene has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties, inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators from mast cells, and also to be an antioxidant. 1-Nonadecene is used as a corrosion inhibitor in industrial processes and as a dry lubricant in metalworking industries.
