Product Information
Nigracin is a biochemical that belongs to the group of polyketides. Nigracin is a potent inhibitor of pyruvic transaminase that has been shown to have insulin sensitizing properties in cell culture. It has also been shown to inhibit acetyl-CoA carboxylase, which increases insulin sensitivity and reduces blood glucose levels in diabetic mice. In vitro studies have shown that nigracin inhibits virus production and has antiviral activity against HIV-1. It also possesses antidiabetic potential, inhibiting acetate extract from Ganoderma lucidum in an assay for inhibitory activities against Cox-2 enzyme.
