The redox potential of octadecylsilane can also be determined using a number of different techniques. Octadecylsilane has been shown to exhibit phase transition temperature at -8°C with particle sizes of 2-3 nm. Salvia miltiorrhizae extract was found to decrease the redox potential of octadecylsilane by 18% when incubated together for 24 hours. The magnesium salt increased the redox potential by 6%.
