Product Information
Aphagranin A is a polyketide that has functional properties. It is isolated from the fungus Belonopsis sp. and has been shown to have antiproliferative activity against human cancer cell lines in vitro. Aphagranin A inhibits cancer cell growth by inhibiting the synthesis of proteins and nucleic acids, which are necessary for the cell cycle. This compound also has an inhibitory effect on b-glucuronidase, b-glucosidase, and arylamine N-acetyltransferase activities and may be useful as a chemotherapeutic agent for cancer treatment.
