Product Information

Name:
YU238259
Description:

YU238259 is a synthetic, particle-based compound that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to DNA and inhibiting DNA replication. The effective dose of YU238259 was determined in an animal model to be 0.5 mg/kg, which is much lower than the dose required for etoposide (a chemotherapy agent often used in the treatment of brain tumors). Results from studies on glioma patients have shown that YU238259 has a significant effect on tumor xenografts when combined with radiation therapy. In addition, YU238259 has been shown to denature DNA, which may lead to the destruction of tumor cells.

The product name is 6-Fluoro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside. This product is an antituberculosis drug that belongs to the class of rifamycins. It is the most active of the rifamycins for the treatment of tuberculosis
