Controlled Product
Synonyms:
  • Benzenesulfonamide, 4-chloro-N-[1-(2-phenylethyl)-2-piperidinylidene]-
  • 4-chloro-N-[1-(2-phenylethyl)-2-piperidinylidene]-Benzenesulfonamide
Description:

W-15-d4 is a benzodiazepine receptor ligand that is an analog of zolpidem. It has been shown to bind to the benzodiazepine receptor with micrometer affinity. Binding of this drug to the benzodiazepine receptor leads to increased thermal expansion and tail-flick latency in mice. W-15-d4 is effective against aviadenovirus, which causes a respiratory disease in chickens, by inhibiting RNA synthesis. This drug has also been shown to inhibit the replication of human influenza A virus (H1N1) and H5N1 avian influenza virus in vitro. W-15-d4 binds to the same site on the RNA polymerase as zolpidem.
