Sagittatoside B is a compound found in Epimedium sagittatum. Sagittatoside B has been found to have anticancer properties, which are due to its ability to inhibit the production of nuclear factor-κB ligand (NF-κβL) and induce apoptosis in liver cells. Sagittatoside B can also be used as an adjuvant for cancer therapy. This compound is extracted by ultrasonic extraction and purified by hplc-ms/ms method. It is soluble in methanol and chloroform but insoluble in water. Sagittatoides B is characterized by the presence of β-glucosidase activity, which hydrolyzes sucrose into glucose and fructose.
