Description:LY 368962 is a potent and selective activator of the metabotropic glutamate receptor subtype mGluR5. It has been shown to have no effect on other ion channels or on ligand-gated ion channels, such as nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and NMDA receptors. LY 368962 was used in a study that found it to be an effective inhibitor of the proliferation of human leukemia cells by blocking the interaction between two proteins, FKBP51 and eIF4E. The binding site for LY 368962 is located at the interface between these two proteins, preventing them from interacting with one another.
