Akt1 and Akt2-IN-1 are two types of Akt inhibitors that inhibit the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) pathway. Akt is a protein that plays an important role in cell signaling, which can lead to cancer. Activated Akt in cells leads to upregulation of proteins that promote tumor growth, such as thymoquinone or cyclin D1. Inhibition of the PI3K pathway by Akt1 and Akt2-IN-1 may be effective for treating cancer by inhibiting cell proliferation and inducing apoptosis. Clinical trials have shown that these inhibitors are not toxic to healthy cells.
