Product Information

Name:
Acebilustat
Description:

Acebilustat is a new drug that has been developed to treat inflammatory diseases. It inhibits neutrophil activity, which is the process by which neutrophils engulf and digest bacteria, fungi, and other foreign materials. Acebilustat may be used as a diagnostic agent for inflammatory diseases with abnormal neutrophil function. This drug also inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in macrophages. Acebilustat binds to the enzyme phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) and prevents it from breaking down cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). This leads to an increase in cAMP levels in cells, which activates protein kinase A (PKA), leading to inhibition of inflammation. The oral dose of acebilustat is 400 mg twice daily.
