Description:

4-Azidobutyrate-N-hydroxysuccinimide ester is an organic molecule that can be used as a chemical enhancer. It has been shown to enhance the binding of integrin receptors to immobilized ligands, such as sequences of collagen, in vitro. 4-Azidobutyrate-N-hydroxysuccinimide ester has also been used to detect acid in leukemia cells and bone growth by vibrational spectroscopy. This molecule has been used to induce tumor xenografts in mice with cancer, which can be detected using an antigen detection assay. It has also been shown that 4-azidobutyrate-N-hydroxysuccinimide ester reacts with functional groups on proteins and nucleic acids during its synthesis into DNA, which may lead to the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS).
