Product Information
TC 14012 is a small-molecule drug that binds to the CXCR4 receptor and blocks HIV infection. TC 14012 is an amide with a cyclic peptide, which has been shown to inhibit both cell-specific and non-cell-specific chemokine production in vitro. TC 14012 also reduces choroidal neovascularization in mice by inhibiting angiogenic factors. The pharmacokinetic properties of TC 14012 are activated by nitrogen atoms, which allow it to be taken orally, as well as being stable to hydrolysis by esterases and CYP450 enzymes. This drug has been shown to be effective against cardiac muscle cells infected with HIV and erythrocytes infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
