Product Information
3-cyano-1H-indole-7-carboxylic acid is a potent, selective, and competitive inhibitor of the insulin receptor tyrosine kinase. It has been shown to be a more potent inhibitor of insulin receptor tyrosine kinase than insulin itself. 3-cyano-1H-indole-7-carboxylic acid binds to the ATP binding site on the receptor and blocks ATP binding, which prevents downstream signaling and leads to inhibition of cell proliferation. 3-cyano-1H-indole-7-carboxylic acid also inhibits the growth of cells in culture by altering cellular metabolism via inhibition of protein synthesis. The chemical structure of 3-(3'-cyanobiphenyl)-2-[(2'-propenyl)amino]-N-[4'-nitrobenzoyl]benzamide is similar to that of other known inhibitors such as piperazine and 2-(4'-nitro
