AFP 464 is an activating agent that binds to the molecular target, which is thought to be growth rate. AFP 464 has been shown to increase the activation of cancer cells and cause a change in their phenotype. It also has anti-tumor effects on kidney cancer cells and other carcinoma cells. AFP 464 is potently activated by spontaneous sequestration or postulated mechanisms. Treatment with AFP 464 has been shown to produce a decrease in tumor size and weight as well as an increase in life span for mice with kidney cancer.
