It binds to the glycine site on the GABAA receptor and increases chloride conductance. 3-(4-Fluorophenyl)-2-(5-methyl-1H-1,2,3,4-tetrazol-1-yl)propanoic acid has been shown to possess a high affinity for the glycine receptor.
