Product Information
Paucinervin A is a natural compound that activates muscle cells and has anti-diabetic activity. It was found to be structurally similar to metformin, an anti-diabetic drug that inhibits the phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase (PI3K) enzyme. Paucinervin A was found to be more potent than metformin in activating muscle cells and inhibiting the phosphorylation of the PI3K enzyme. It also had a hypoglycemic effect in l6 myotubes, which may be due to its ability to inhibit glucose uptake. The skeleton protective effect of paucinervin A may be due to its ability to inhibit amp-activated protein kinase (AMPK).
