Description

Ursodeoxycholic acid is a bile acid that is used for the treatment of chronic liver diseases such as primary sclerosing cholangitis and cirrhosis. Ursodeoxycholic acid was shown to be effective in reducing disease activity, improving quality of life, and reducing liver lesions in patients with bowel diseases. It also has been shown to reduce hepatic steatosis by lowering enzyme activities and increasing biliary excretion.
