Product Information
4-Ethoxy-1-naphthoic acid is a phthalic acid derivative that has been used as an intermediate in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, such as anti-inflammatory agents and antipyretics. It has a high affinity for polar solutes but is not soluble in nonpolar solvents. 4-Ethoxy-1-naphthoic acid is also used to measure the adsorption and desorption properties of mineral oils and other organic compounds. 4-Ethoxy-1-naphthoic acid has been shown to have antihypertensive effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by blocking the cyclooxygenase enzyme.
