Product Information

Name:
Trans-4-ethylcyclohexanol
Synonyms:
  • 4-Ethyl-Cyclohexano(Mixture Of Cis And Trans)
  • Cyclohexanol, 4-ethyl-, trans-
  • trans-4-Ethylcyclohexanol
Description:

Trans-4-ethylcyclohexanol is a drug that is used to treat diabetic neuropathy. It has been shown to have an effect on the symptoms of diabetic neuropathy, including pain and numbness. Trans-4-ethylcyclohexanol binds to fatty acids and peptides in the blood, which are then removed from the circulation by the liver. This prevents their accumulation in tissues such as nerve fibres, and reduces the symptoms of diabetic neuropathy. Trans-4-ethylcyclohexanol has also been shown to increase levels of alpha-tocopherol, which may be due to its ability to inhibit α -hydroxylase activity.
