Description:LY3295668 is a cytostatic agent that has minimal toxicity. It binds to the fatty acid acyl chains in the bacterial membrane, which prevents the bacteria from synthesizing fatty acids and other lipids. LY3295668 also inhibits transcription of bacterial genes involved in growth factor synthesis and blocks DNA-dependent RNA polymerase activity. This agent has been shown to be effective against a number of tumor xenografts, including skin carcinomas and colon adenocarcinomas, with an effective dose range of 10-100 µg/mL. LY3295668 has also been shown to be effective against probiotic bacteria, such as Lactobacillus acidophilus.
