Product Information

Name:
RPI-1
Description:

RPI-1 is a cytostatic agent that inhibits the proliferation of tumor cells. It has been shown to have synergistic effects with other agents and can be used in combination therapy for cancer treatment. RPI-1 is able to inhibit the growth of cells in tissue culture and to prevent insect resistance by interfering with their ability to synthesize proteins. This drug also has an effect on liver cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit angiogenic factors. RPI-1 binds to DNA polymerase and prevents transcription by binding to ribonucleotide reductase, blocking RNA synthesis. This active form also inhibits basic fibroblast activity and microvessel density. RPI-1 also has diploid activity, meaning it can bind to both strands of DNA at the same time, which may lead to cell lysis.
