Product Information

Name:
Isodaphnoretin B
Description:

Isodaphnoretin B is a monomer extracted from the roots of Isodon spicatus. It is soluble in polar solvents such as chloroform, acetone and ether. Isodaphnoretin B is extracted by the use of organic solvents such as chloroform, acetone and ether. The extractions are done synchronously to ensure that the desired product remains intact. The extraction process involves three main steps: (1) the plant material is soaked in water to produce an aqueous solution; (2) this solution is then mixed with an organic solvent; and (3) the mixture is heated to evaporate off the organic solvent, leaving behind a solid residue containing the desired product. The extract obtained can be further purified by chromatography or recrystallization.
