Product Information
AZ191 is a monoclonal antibody that recognizes the nuclear envelope protein, lamin B1. It is used as an anti-cancer treatment for squamous cell cancer, mutant melanoma and cervical cancer. AZ191 also has been shown to induce autophagy and caspase-independent cell death in various types of cancer cells in culture. AZ191 inhibits tumor growth by preventing the formation of new blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to the tumor. The antibodies bind to lamin B1 on the nuclear envelope, which blocks the recruitment of other proteins involved in mitosis, leading to a disruption of DNA synthesis and mitotic progression.
